A 200-Kg Chocolate Masterpiece at Salon du Chocolat India 2026

Salon du Chocolat India to feature a spectacular 200-kg life-size Chocolate Sculpture by Rintu Kalyani Rathod, in collaboration with Jindal Cocoa & Urban Platter.

On 16–17 January 2026, the world’s largest celebration of chocolate and pastry arrives in Mumbai, bringing with it a curated lineup of hands-on workshops and masterclasses designed to inspire, excite and transform the way India experiences chocolate.

Salon du Chocolat India is proud to unveil one of its most anticipated highlights for the 2026 edition: a life-size chocolate sculpture crafted from nearly 200 kg of chocolate by renowned chocolate artist Rintu Kalyani Rathod. Celebrated for her large-scale edible installations and the widely acclaimed Chocolate Ganpati movement, Rintu brings her unmatched artistry, emotion, and craftsmanship to this extraordinary creation.

This ambitious edible artwork comes to life through the generous support of Jindal Cocoa, which has sponsored the full 200 kg of premium chocolate required for the sculpture. Their contribution underscores a strong commitment to nurturing India’s evolving chocolate artistry. Adding to this collaboration, Urban Platter joins as an essential ingredient partner, sponsoring the corn syrup required to achieve the ideal structure, sheen, and stability for the sculpture.

Speaking about the collaboration, Mr Pankaj Rawal of Jindal Cocoa said:

“Our couvertures, crafted with pure cocoa butter and rich cocoa solids, offer unrivalled smoothness and precision for artistic moulding—while delivering a deep, decadent chocolate flavour that’s simply irresistible. At Jindal Cocoa, we are proud to support this remarkable 200-kg chocolate sculpture by Rintu Kalyani Rathod. It reflects the limitless creative potential of chocolate, and we are delighted that our product is part of such an inspiring and ambitious artistic project.”

From Urban Platter, the brand shared its enthusiasm for supporting India’s chocolate artistry:

“We are thrilled to be an ingredient partner for this magnificent sculpture. At Urban Platter, we believe in enabling creativity through quality ingredients, and it’s an honour to see our corn syrup contribute to a piece of art of this scale.”

Rintu, who has been shaping edible art for over a decade, expressed her excitement:

“Creating a life-size artwork entirely out of chocolate is both a challenge and a joy. Chocolate is a living medium—it reacts, it breathes, it surprises you, and that’s what makes it magical.”

 She added:

“I’m grateful to Salon du Chocolat India for giving me a platform of this scale, and to Jindal Cocoa and Urban Platter for supporting my vision. This sculpture represents not just technique but emotion, storytelling, and a celebration of chocolate as an artistic medium.”

Highlighting the significance of this installation, Satish Menon, Project Head of Salon du Chocolat India, said:

“This creation will be a visual showstopper and a key attraction for our visitors. We are excited to present a piece of this scale and craftsmanship as part of the show.”

Salon du Chocolat, the world’s largest celebration of chocolate, makes its grand India debut on January 16–17, 2026, in Mumbai. The show will bring together chocolatiers, brands, pastry chefs, artists, and chocolate lovers for an immersive and unforgettable experience.
